Indialantic is a town of about 3,000 people on the barrier island, directly across the Melbourne Causeway from downtown Melbourne. It began as Ernest Kouwen-Hoven's "Indialantic-By-The-Sea" in the late 1910s and was incorporated in 1952. The town is roughly a mile square, between Riverside Drive on the lagoon and A1A by the ocean.
